Briefing by the Chair of the Sanctions committee established by resolution 1737 (2006)

The Chair of the Sanctions committee established by resolution 1737 (2006), H.E. Mr. Gary Quinlan, Permanent Representative of Australia, updated the Security council on the Committee’s activities, as he is mandated to do every 90 days. During the debate that followed this briefing, Ambassador Sylvie Lucas reiterated Luxembourg’s support to a negotiated solution to the Iranian nuclear issue in accordance with the dual track approach, while emphasizing that the Iranian authorities should dispel the concerns regarding the nature of their nuclear programme.
