Luxembourg contributes 2.8 million euro to mitigate the famine in the Horn of Africa

Published Friday July 22 2011

The Luxembourg Government increased its emergency humanitarian assistance by 1.3 million €, with a view to help coping with the ongoing drought in the Horn of Africa, which is affecting more than eleven million people in the region; taking its contributions to 2.8 million € since the beginning of the crisis.

The contributions, through various projects, primarily aim at bringing food and nutritional assistance, as well as delivering water and sanitary services, to the most vulnerable populations.
