Luxembourg officially recognizes the Republic of South Sudan

On 9 July 2011, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg has officially recognized the Republic of South Sudan, which celebrated its independence on Saturday. Luxembourg congratulates the population and the Government of South Sudan for gaining their independence and intends to shortly establish diplomatic relations with the new State.
