Luxembourg signs the Nagoya Protocol on ABS

On 23 June 2011, Luxembourg signed, together with the European Union and 11 other EU Member States, the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization (ABS). The Nagoya Protocol, which is a supplementary agreement to the Convention on Biological Diversity, was adopted on 29 October 2010 in Nagoya, Japan and will enter into force 90 days after receipt of the 50th instrument of ratification.
