The Minister for Cooperation and Humanitarian Action at the Development Cooperation Forum 2012
The Minister for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Action of Luxembourg, Marie-Josée Jacobs, attended on 5 and 6 July 2012 the Development Cooperation Forum (DCF), held in the framework of the substantive session of ECOSOC, in UN headquarters in New York.
On 5 July, the Minister for Cooperation and Humanitarian Action made a keynote address to the plenary session entitled Drivers of Change: What is the future of development cooperation? Her statement focused on two elements, namely sustainable development as a global common cause and the need to develop innovative financial means to carry out this work. She also participated in two ministerial roundtables, dealing in particular with decent work conditions and economic empowerment of women.
In the margins of the Forum, Minister Jacobs met with the Executive Director of the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA), Babatunde Osotimehin, and with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Administrator, Helen Clark.
